Look Parades Travels

Hello to all the curvy ladies (and the guys that follow us too).

Years ago it was impossible to imagine that a model with the size XXL could protagonize a spot or could walk the runway for big designers, but beauty canons are changing, and it is time for the curves to impose themselves.

Until now, fashion was reserved for models like Kate Upton or Heidi Klum, but finally the big brands have realized there is a big demand and that these models don’t represent the majority of the women who buy their garments.

Lets define curves

Nearly all women fit the description of a curvy woman because a big percentage of us have curves, and the Ministry of Health afirmed that more than 40% of them have problems finding garments that fit their figure.
Curves had managed to succed since Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein ofered their plus size lines, even then they have been surrounded by controversy for showing common sizes.

Mango was one of the first national brands to join in this initiative with the shops Violeta by Mango, that offer sizes from 40 to 52. It wasn’t long before there were complaints for considering those sizes as plus size, without keeping in mind all of the people with bigger sizes that suffer daily discrimination even from those supposed specializing brands.Milan, after New York Fashion Week and MBMFW, has opened their doors on the most anticipated dates of the season. More than 70 fashion shows from the best international brands that have left a mark, protagonized by big Tops and models that have shown one more time the exquisiteness and elegance of the colors and fabrics choosen for the next Autmn/Winter season.
The novelty comes hand in hand with Gucci and Bottega Venetta with their mixed shows in witch there were men and women, but what about curvy ones?

What happens with Curvy models?

After some years protagonizing demands ,we,  curvy models have been left on the sidelines. And it is no wonder that international brands like Marina Rinaldi (italian) and Elena Miro ,  that have boasted their diversity in the runway shows, have been cataloged as second rate ones.

There is still a long way to go; we go on the catwalk like counted drops with the ilusion of making something big, and they don’t give us the same priority.
Network news clearly show, mind you, Marina Rinaldi’s party because of it’s ability to drew the media but not because of the pity of not giving up the fashion show, like she did years ago.
Being a famous designer that has worked with Patricia Arquette on 2015, she has wanted to promote plus size garments as a way to accept diversity and curves.

It is a brand managed by Max Mara and they haven’t found the way to expose it like it deserves. After all this, i have collected the best images of the event (you will see soon the ones from the runway show) and of the preparations that we suffer on the backstage before the show.Nerves, laughs.. and I also bring you the designer’s choosen proposals for the next 2017-18 Autumn/Winter Season.

Next week there are big surprises on the horizon for you, meanwhile, dress with color and live with a lot of love.
