Street Style

Look

Transparent garments give sensuality and boldness to the most basic outfits of our wardrobe.
Associated with feminity, transparent garments are, without a doubt, a clear example of bravery and confidence, where curvy women can show our body without fear, becoming genuine referent of style and beauty.

If the catwalks are the objective of industry professionals, “street style” has positioned itself as the translation of the trends to reality.

The street style has established itself as another marketing platform for brands and wannabe it-girls. If the catwalk is the goal of industry professionals, the street has positioned itself as the translation of the trends to reality or at least in its most saturated version among young people.

There is not a clear definition on what is the preferential style seeing as the street style covers a wide range of different tastes.

But, what is behind all this?

It does not only consist on paying attention to what people wear daily, of opting for a tracksuit or a party dress, you have to try and merge, and make your clothes something personal and exclusive. Collaborations between bloggers, editors, just like for a brand there are considerable benefits of having someone with hundreds of thousands of followers in Instagram modeling their product; the street style also allows new designers or small brands to be internationally known.

The success of hundreds of brands is grounded on the young people that want to look like their referents. Young people have a very big role, because they want to look like their idols, and the big brands try to offer anything they wish for. Strategy or not, everybody wins and social media works as a showcase to make the it-Girls show what is “in” at all times.

But it is not only about being present on blogs, Brands want to be the protagonist in the range of social networks that fashion bloggers dominate, Twitter, Facebook, and above all, Instagram, the tool that has positioned itself as the new springboard for the ones that dedicate ourselves to fashion. Brand´s interest is closely related to the level of development of their social networks.

In relation with the transparent fabrics, is often hard for us to opt for this type of fabrics. In the United States it’s pretty common to see celebrities that don’t leave and inch of skin covered, but European culture is different. We are still not used to seeing women daily with transparencies and a visible bra, and is for that reason that we must risk and choose garments that that combine in a sexy way and are appropriate without being vulgar.

In my case, I still struggle, but I promise that someday I will show myself proudly and without shyness, with transparencies and without wearing a tank top underneath.

The outfit that I have chosen for this week is a simple and comfortable street style look. The see-trough blouse is from H&M (new) and the jeans are from the Love Your Curves collection from Zara TRF.

I hope you like it, and as I always tell you, dare to take the plunge and try different outfits that make you feel unique.

Dress with color and live with a lot of love.
